Santa Cruz Children’s Charities was founded by people who wanted to help children and bring awareness of various children’s issues and fundraising capabilities to the Santa Cruz, California area. Specifically, the group chooses one or more children’s issues or charities, and works with that group/charity for approximately one year. During the course of that period, Santa Cruz Children’s Charities engages in activities in the Santa Cruz area to grow local awareness, and raise funds for the chosen cause. Since its inception in 2005, SCCC has helped many organizations with their programs through volunteer work and fundraising. Some of the organizations that have benefitted from the works of SCCC are the following: Operation Smile Adapt A Family Vanishing Children’s Alliance Child Protective Services New Horizons School CASA Presently, Santa Cruz Children’s Charities has chosen CASA of Santa Cruz as its focus charity. The members are organizing events to raise funds for private tutoring for the children that are in the CASA program.
